A Project to extend the Technology and CDT building to provide a gallery and exhibition space to be used by both the School and the local community. The challenge was to provide a building suitable for its dual purpose, exhibiting both an individuality and a connection with the existing school. This was achieved by employing similar massing and vernacular to adjacent parts of the school whilst introducing striking curtain walling and coloured render to lie comfortably alongside the existing palette of steel and timber cladding. A discreet, well-lit interior, provides the right environment for a variety of exhibitions and functions, with views out over the adjoining landscaped playing fields.
