New Library for Park House School

This project sought to provide a brand-new purpose-built library extension for Park House School.

The new library extension connects the original Park House building and the History Corridor, enclosing this side of the 6th Form Courtyard.

The new library is split between an upper and lower library, housing the book storage and work areas. Three ‘lantern’ roof lights sail over these spaces to provide light and volume within the new block. The new library brings the school’s library facility up to current standards and the correct size for the future needs of the school.

The previous library will be converted to three good sized classrooms and one smaller group room to extend the range of class teaching areas available within the school.

The staff kitchenette will be converted into an accessible WC to meet the requirements for accessibility at the school, with a new kitchenette to be installed within the existing staff room.

  • Adding 3 new classrooms
  • Relocating and extending the library
  • Improving accessibility within Park House with Disabled WC
  • Enhancing building energy efficiency with window upgrade programme
