Quiet Oasis

Zed House is the result of the complete refurbishment of an existing cottage within the curtilage of a Grade II listed building and the construction of a new single storey extension and separate garage.

The recipient of a regional design award, the site is surrounded on all sides and responds to this contextually with a courtyard design solution that splits the building into 3 separate areas: living, studio and sleeping.

All areas of the house open onto a landscaped courtyard thus giving the occupiers full enjoyment of its south westerly aspect, light and views whilst blurring the boundaries between inside and out.

  • A 4 bed luxury home with artist’s studio and gallery space
  • Winner of a Cheltenham Civic Award
  • Designed to maximise natural light penetration
  • High thermal storage capacity and the use of solar thermal panels to provide hot water and heating to minimise fossil fuel consumption
