Working with our client Crossmark Developments Ltd, we designed a mixed use scheme for the redundant Police headquarters site.

The scheme comprised a 200 bed hotel, 198 student rooms and 84 residential apartments all set around an open ground level piazza that acted as a nodal pedestrian point and re-connected the city centre with Broadmead and Cabot Circus.

We introduced Dutch Hotel group Motel One into the mix and coupled the residential element with Taylor Wimpey residential. The student operator was yet to be selected. The scheme received pre-app support from Bristol City Planning officers and was shortlisted to the last 3 bidders. The winner was a 1005 student scheme.
