Office and Residential in EC1

Starleen Investments asked Oxford Architects to develop a two storey roof top extension to an existing Edwardian warehouse building in Central London. The new floors accommodate 4no two and three bed split level, high quality dwellings.

The proposal also involved the rear extension of the first and second floor offices to dramatically increase the lettable area. The common stairs and lift cores are also to be completely refurbished.

The project involves complicated co-ordination of the new extensions with the existing fabric and building services below. As the offices below the development remain in occupation, phasing and site set up also need careful consideration.

Oxford Architects are working closely with Party Wall surveyors, Rights of Light surveyors and also residential retail specialists who have had a significant input into the layout and specifications of the flats, adding considerable value to the scheme.
