Contemporary Housing close to the City Centre

The design and future construction of 14 new residential dwellings comprising 10 new contemporary houses and 4 flats which are to be located in a spacious refurbished Grade II listed building, all with easy and direct access to Bristol City Centre.

The proposed housing has been laid out to respect its immediate context whilst also positively responding to the environmental factors of the site, with a large amount of the roofs being south facing and able to support photovoltaic panels for the generation of sustainable onsite energy.

The proposed design includes 16 dedicated off street car parking bays, as well as secure cycle storage and external bin and recycling stores. Structured landscaping across the site will provide a green and pleasant aspect to the residents and site.

All units exceed the minimum space standards set by Bristol City Council creating spacious living environments for the occupiers.

The external fabric material palette is predominantly made up of buff brick with different bonding patterns to emphasise the design through detail. Colourful metal panels give each house its own distinct identity as well as providing a splash of colour to the site as a whole. All houses feature light wells to bring natural daylight deep into the building thus reducing the need for artificial lighting during the day.

  • Off street parking and spacious living in Grade II listed building
  • Easy access to Bristol's city centre and wider transport network
  • Designed to achieve 20% reduction in typical energy consumption
  • Use of PV panels and Solar Thermal Technologies
