Prominent Corner Site Rejuvinated

Treated as a very sensitive site in Oxford this project refurbished a number of buildings including a derelict corner building whilst removing the rear elements to add a 4 storey block of student accommodation.

The ground floor of the building is designed as a range of flexible retail spaces which utilise existing basements which were modified and extended as storage. A sensitive glass extension links the corner building and three gabled retained frontages. The rear extension is a distinctive contemporary building in a white self-coloured render with brickwork to the street end.

  • Part refurbishment & part new build for important corner site
  • Very tight urban site
  • Retail with student accommodation above
  • Very poor buildings requiring extensive work
  • 40 student rooms and extensive retail units
