Light Touch, Low Impact

Florence Park is a well established and mature park in Oxford and the concept for this project was to provide a gentle but exciting new building for community use that did not obtrude into its setting and was of a scale suitable to the small children using it.
The low structure hides behind the hedge bordering the bowling green and provides covered play space for the children. Laminated timber beams and concrete columns provide a variety of colour and texture. The building has a ‘green’ roof.
