Achieving Independent Living

Agnes Court is a home with nursing care, providing a range of services for adults with severe mental and physical disabilities.

This Leonard Cheshire Home is a bright, modern building in a fantastic location in the centre of Banbury, Oxfordshire. The purpose-built home was opened in 2008 by Her Majesty The Queen, and accommodates 24 residents, with all rooms enjoying en-suite facilities.

The new care home comprises two semi autonomous living wings each of 10 bedrooms with independent dining and lounge areas. The central portion of the building comprises three respite bedrooms plus administration and training facilities

The home is equipped with assistive technology, which enables our residents to open doors, control lighting and enjoy other facilities independently.

This is a residential care home for the severely mentally and physically handicapped who need long term nursing care.

The focus of the design was to achieve

  • as much independence as possible for the residents including
  • SMART technology for operating equipment in the bedrooms
  • Independent views and gardens for each bedroom
