Barney completed his architectural training at Kingston University, London where he obtained his Postgraduate Diploma (with commendation) in Professional Practice in Architecture.
Barney has a strong interest in sustainable design and construction which is grounded with a well-rounded experience of the construction industry, having worked in various Architectural Practices, a large Planning Consultancy, and on numerous building sites as either a junior project manager or general labourer.
He spent a year in India (New Delhi) where he mainly worked on low cost schools and primary healthcare facilities. This experience was followed by four years with BDP in London where he worked on numerous large retail, leisure and commercial projects in the UK, China, Poland and Tunisia, with typical project values in excess of £100million. After leaving BDP, Barney started and ran a successful rural architecture practice as a sole practitioner working mainly in the Buckinghamshire region.
In 2014 he joined the Bristol office and is currently working on a wide range of projects at varying stages of design across many sectors.
