This 70-bedroom unit at Crowthorne is one of only four prototype units in the UK commissioned by the Department of Health for patients diagnosed with dangerous severe personality disorders.

Located within the secure perimeter of Broadmoor Hospital, the £25m serpentine shaped building makes clever use of the contours on a difficult and steeply sloping site. Working to a very demanding programme set by government the building was designed, constructed and completed on time.
